Description
‘Experience Advent’ follows a similar pattern to other Experience Journeys in the series such as Experience Christmas and Experience Harvest. These materials have proved extremely popular in a wide range of contexts from tiny rural parishes to major cathedrals in our large cities.
The pack contains photographs and detailed instructions for six stations that can be created by local congregations in different parts of their church:
- Waiting – A time of waiting – The Advent Wreath.
- Hope – Patriarchs and Matriarchs – God of the Unexpected.
- Peace – The Prophets – Prince of Peace.
- Love – John the Baptist – Light of the World.
- Joy – Mary – God for Ordinary People.
- Waiting Again – The Waiting Continues for Jesus to Come Again.
We adapted the resource to suit our small village school. We used each station as part of our weekly worship session, meaning that the children gained a better understanding of Advent across the weeks. Our children particularly enjoyed the ‘responding’ activities.
